SUMMARY OF POST 295’s DEC. COMMUNITY SERVICE ACTIVITIES
In December 33 people volunteered 166.5 hours traveling 545 miles at their own expense. Donations this month totaled $2062.60

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
*Donated 110 dollars to Moose Heart Charities
FOR THE TROOPS
*In conjunction with SSP BYR, Members of Post 295 and its Auxiliary volunteered at a Family Christmas Party for the Army Air Nat’l Guard Unit at Holman Field. This included the Families of those unit members who are currently deployed. *Donate a total of $500 to the families of the 3 members of MN Army Air Nat’l Guard n killed in a helicopter crash near St. Cloud.
CHILDREN AND YOUTH
*Our VOD winner Elizabeth Link a JR. @ Visitation High School was chosen as this year’s 1st place winner at both the District and the Department levels. So far, she has received prize/scholarship money totaling $3150, and an all-expense paid trip to Washington DC, where she will compete in the National competition.
VETERANS
*This month 21 Post and Auxiliary members spent 107 hours and traveled 240 miles (at their own expense) to put on/participate 6 events/activities for the veterans either @ the VA Medical Center Minneapolis, MN Veteran’s Home Minneapolis, or the MN Veteran’s Home Hastings. The cost of these events was $291 which the post picked-up. *The Post an Auxiliary adopted 5 Residents of the Hastings MN Vet’s Home. This Christmas 295 set aside $500 for gifts for these Vets. 5 Auxiliary members spent 5 hours each shopping for these gits. *The Post also Donated $500. To the MN VFW Charitable Foundation
