Hoping your new year is off to a good start.
As we head into the new year there will be many opportunities to participate in several events. Volunteers are needed to help with poppy distribution in the spring. Contact me or Ray Hartung at a post meeting. The Oak Hill Veterans Monument project is continuing, and volunteers are needed to assist with the head stone repairs prior to Memorial Day. We are working with Home Depot to get funding with this project.
Election of new officers are coming up and nominations will be in March with elections in April and Installation of officer’s in May. We other positions that will need to be filled. More information will be announced at upcoming meetings.
The 100th Anniversary dinner went very well. We were honored to have the Commander in Chief attend. His presentation was uplifting and was very entertaining. He presented the Post with a Century Award that will be displayed in the office. The boys Choir provided the entertainment for the event and provided an amazing show. The Commander in Chief presented each of the performers with an US Flag pin.
The Mid-Winter convention was held in Minneapolis in January. Several Post members attended meeting and went to the banquet. Our Voice of Democracy entrant attended and presented her essay. We are excited to announce that our entrant Elizabeth Link took 1st Place for in the state and will go to Washington DC as the Minnesota entry for the National VFW VOD contest, we wish her luck.
Annual dues: A reminder if you haven’t paid your dues, they are now due. If your dues are coming up in the next 4 months consider sending it in this week or contact me with any questions or concerns.
The Echo schedule will be modified to every other month starting in 2020. Watch for the next Echo in April.
